The portrayal of law in the movie

The portrayal of law in television programs on the example of the series Judge Barbara Dominika Muschaliková Abstract This diploma thesis deals with the depiction of law and lawyers in Czech serial production on the example of the TV show Judge Barbara. It analysis means the creators use to capture the judicial environment and the impressions of the judicial environment viewers get from the show. It also compares this depiction with reality and evaluates the educational potential of the show. The second part seeks to answer the question of whether it is ethically permissible for real judges and lawyers to participate in the production of these programs, draws attention to the complexities of professional advice on television production and gives future legal advisers recommendations how to proceed when asked to partipate in such project. Showing Chosen Strong Female Characters in TV Series and Their Reflection in the Real World

This thesis deals with the influence of TV series and their strong heroines on female audience. The aim of this work is to find out whether selected female characters influence the general view of the femine beauty ideal, whether the viewers were in any way inspired by strong female characters and whether these series have opened up some social issues. These goals were formulated into three research questions, which will be answered in the conclusion. The work is divided into three main parts - theoretical, methodological and practical. The theoretical part aims to acquaint the reader with the theoretic basis needed to understand the researched issues. The methodological part presents research methods with all its advantages and disadvantages. The last practical part is focused on research and interpretation of the obtained data. A qualitative method is used to achieve the results, specifically the grounded theory, which is used for the analysis and subsequent interpretation of data obtained from interviews.
Czech Satire TV Shows: Current Status

Diploma thesis Czech satire TV shows: Current status aims to discover how contemporary television production works with satirical genre. Using qualitative analysis of sample of three selected shows regarded as satirical: Cosmic, Gnome and Nadrazi, it tries to describe and answer questions what topics are brought to the audience and what image of these motives the series present. After the necessary theoretical anchoring that defines satirical genre, its status in certain critical approaches and a brief history of satirical production on Czech television screens after the Velvet Revolution follows a practical analysis of plots and formal structures of the series. The analysis focuses on identification and description of satirical objects as they are shown in each of the shows. In conclusion, the thesis connects results of the analysis and findings from the theoretical part to research questions.

This bachelor thesis focuses on children's media heroes. Semi-structured interviews with selected children from ages six to twelve from elementary school in Kardašova Řečice were used for the research. Twenty one children participated in the research were answering questions about favorite heroes, watching TV, reading books or playing computer games. The primary purpose of this thesis was to determine what media heroes children choose, for what reason and where the heroes come from. The secondary purpose are the topics arising from the interviews with children, media consumption by children in general, its possible risk, pertinent regulation by parents and so on.
Development of political broadcasted on ČT in the period from 1989 to the present

The aim of the thesis is to map and describe changes that have taken place in the field of political debates on the Czech Television (in the period from 1989 to the present). The work describes changes regarding the form and the content of programs and its debates. There also appears a critical assessment of that development (and of some prevailing trend) of the political issue programs (on Czech TV) development in the thesis. The first research question relates to the assumpiton that a given period occured significant changes in the form and content of the broadcasted. Description of those changes is the main aim. The second question 1 relates to the assumption that the applied media-scientific theories are applicable to the issue of television political debate. The author proceeds in five steps. First, the introduction sets the theme in context, mentions a historical overview of political discussion programs broadcasted on Czech Television (from 1989 to the present) and consequently characterizes them. Construction of gender role in women /men TV show in the year 2012

My thesis is focused on construction of gender roles in Czech TV shows of the year 2012. First part of the thesis consists of theoretical background, where the principle of feminine and masculine roles, which are constructed by media too, is presented. The thematic foreign and domestic studies, which are introduced there, show how the experts look at this issue. Other chapters are formed by this view and present the most frequented image of women and men on TV or the media principles. Last sections of the theoretical frame are about consumers' everyday habits of watching TV and about impact, which this programmes could have. Second part of this thesis has metodological character. The objective to decode which gender roles are formed by selected programmes Sama doma, Top Star Magazín, menZONE or Těžká dřina and which signs participate on this constructions are described in this part. The research method is semiotic analysis with description of the narrative, thanks to which the hidden myth is revealed more precisely. Educational value of popular tv shows in 21th.century

Bachelor's thesis "Educational value of popular TV shows in 21st century" describes three popular TV shows and analyses their educational value. First part focuses on intentional and unintentional educational TV shows in past and present and analyses the differences between documantary and fictional TV series. Second part analyses information, that are beeing presentated in described TV shows, their factional validity and educational value seen both from the view of the audience and the creators of the shows. Third part proposes use of the single TV shows in formal and informal educational process based on both new and existing models.
Media content organization and solutions in JavaFX

The bachelor thesis looks into changes in television and movie audience behavior. Increas-ing amount of TV shows and movies in user media library brings new needs those files properly organize a record which one has been already watched by user. Software solution must abide audience custom and allow smooth transition from slowly degrading television audience to new, more interactive one. Current offer on market of media organization software is broad, but it is important to focus in detail on functions of those applications and verify if they truly meet all set requirements, or if they are robust application software, which can be not very user-friendly for common user. Custom solution in Java using brand new user interface library JavaFX 8, which goal is to bring basic framework of possibilities of solving media organization for future programmers.
Fictional languages

The thesis aims to map and describe so called ?fictional languages? which we can find in contemporary fiction literature, cinematography and TV shows. The most popularare: Elvish languages Quenya and Sindarin by J. R. R. Tolkien, Klingon language from the TV show Star Trek, Ancient language from fantasy books by Christopher Paolini, Newspeak from George Orwell?s novel 1984, Nadsat language used by teens in Clockwork Orange novel and the new Dothraki language used in the TV show Game of Thrones. The objective of this work is comparing of the most popular fictive languages and an assessment whether and how is it possible to use given languages in communication.
